Historic Districts

San Diego cherishes its architectural treasures, and the City regularly designates older homes as new historic landmarks. Many of these gems—designed by San Diego’s premier architects—are found throughout the Metro area. A significant concentration of historic properties exists within designated and proposed historic districts, showcasing a variety of classic architectural styles. Several condo buildings in Uptown and Downtown have also received historic designation. Owners of these historic houses and condos can benefit from substantial property tax savings through the Mills Act incentives.
